Effect of Dry–Wet Cycle Periods on Properties of Concrete under Sulfate Attack

Dry–wet cycle conditions have significant effects on the corrosion of concrete under sulfate attack. However, previous studies only applied them as a method for accelerating attack and not systematically studied an object. In order to explore impact with different dry–wet periods concrete, in this study, four (3, 7, 14, 21 days) were selected. The flexure strength, relative dynamic modulus, mass tested, microstructures eroded specimens also analyzed. intensity depth erosion influenced by wet–dry period. results show that deterioration first increased then decreased extension Microstructural analysis indicated that, increase period, increased. Moreover, products such ettringite gypsum greatly increased, agreement macroscopic variations. excessively prolonging does significantly further concrete’s performance. Therefore, considering strength caused attack, it would be appropriate employ 7–14 days natural dry concrete.
